During my time at University pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Philosophy and a minor in Gender and Development,  I gained experience doing extensive research for many non-governmental organizations (NGOs).  I also interned with the National Centre for Human Rights Education in Atlanta, Georgia, where a key focus was researching the impact of parental drug abuse on teens in a particular community.  For this reason, I am proficient in the use of SPSS and posses strong, computing and information gathering skills.

I also represented the University at the Southern Regional Model United Nations (SRMUN) as a delegate for the Commission on the Status of Women. There, I gained experience in United Nations operation and research design as well as liaised with many different representatives for the purpose of gathering and sharing information. For this reason, I am able to work well with groups of persons from various social and economic backgrounds.

Through education, internships and volunteer work, I have acquired strong time management, interpersonal, analytical and organizational skills, since teamwork and inter-organizational cooperation are at the core of all social justice advocate institutions. I am therefore certain that my experience in social justice issues, grass roots organizing and community building have qualified me for the job of Research Officer within your organization.
